Make the work on Amsterdam's water visible.

Water Stories is a small content studio on the Amsterdam water. We make video, articles and audio tours for organisations that work on or along the water: harbour and maritime companies, water authorities, and places on the waterfront. You get material for your own channels, plus our reach among people who follow the water every week.

Concretely: short videos with your own people, articles read by the water community, and audio tours for trips, open days and new employees.

Three ways to work together

What do you need?

01 · VIDEO ON INSTAGRAM

Let people meet the people who work on the water

Short videos in which we film your people at work: on the quay, in the terminal, on board. Viewers see faces and hear why the work matters, which is what makes them care.

02 · ARTICLES ON SUBSTACK

Have your work and plans read on the water

A story about a project, a policy choice or a water event, told in normal words. Stories from the water are short and to the point, seen from the water today, and worth telling someone else.

03 · AUDIO TOUR IN THE WEB APP

Tell the history of the water during the boat ride

An audio tour that plays in the browser while people are on the water or walking your site. Good for client trips, new employees, open days and school visits: they understand where they are before anyone explains it.

How we work

From first call to published, in four steps.

01

Intro call

Half an hour. You tell us who you want to reach and what you want them to understand.

02

Plan and fixed price

Within a few days you get a short plan: format, subjects, planning and one price.

03

We come to you

Half a day on site or on board. We film and interview your own people, no scripts.

04

Delivery and reach

You get the files for your own channels. We publish on ours and report what people watched.

A fixed price agreed before we start, one contact person, and you read or watch everything before it goes out.

Finding new people

Young people do not know this work exists.

Harbour companies, shipyards and water organisations are all looking for people. Meanwhile hardly anyone leaves school knowing you can work on the water at all.

We film your own people at work and let them explain it in normal words. No campaign voice, no stock footage: the people who already do the job.

Pilot

One month, three portraits

  • Half a day filming on site with three of your people.
  • Three vertical videos, yours to use on your own channels and at job fairs.
  • We post them too, and report back what people watched and asked.

A fixed price before we start. After the month we look at the numbers together and decide whether it is worth continuing.

Who this is for

  • Shipyards and maritime suppliers
  • Logistics and inland shipping

Public water organisations

  • Water authorities (waterschappen)

  • Waternet and water utilities
  • Engineering and consultancy firms

Places on the water

  • Schools and universities of applied sciences
  • Hotels and waterside hospitality
  • Waterside real estate
